For those of you who are not familiar with the term, Astroturf, it is being used by the Democrats to denigrate the efforts of the town hall protesters. The Dems claim that they are shills for the GOP, as opposed to a true grassroots movement. Now, look at the pictures in these articles. Which group looks like they were sponsored by an organized group?

Quotes of the month (C.S Lewis & J.R.R. Tolkien) from FreedomWorks by Rossputin

“Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies, The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

“We all want progress, but if you’re on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.”

Any prudent person would compare two choices before they made a decision. So let’s compare. This article compares our current health care in the US with those in Canada, and the UK. You read it, and you decide which you want.

Beware of corporate sponsors of any government program. They have much to gain, and we probably have much to lose. It’s funny how the Libs are always decrying big business, except when it is on their side. And then, they try and keep it secret.Obama and Drug Companies Colluding on Healthcare  from FreedomWorks by bstein80

This is from Obama’s Weekly address,

”So, let me explain what reform will mean for you.  And let me start by dispelling the outlandish rumors that reform will promote euthanasia, cut Medicaid, or bring about a government takeover of health care. That’s simply not true. This isn’t about putting government in charge of your health insurance; it’s about putting you in charge of your health insurance. Under the reforms we seek, if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan.”

How can he make these statements when he has admitted that he hasn’t read the bill? Has he given direction to Congress on what should be in the bill? I don’t think so. In fact, people who have read the bill, disagree with these statements. Why should we believe anything he says? It is clear that he will say anything based on which way the wind is blowing in order to get his socialist agenda in place. His current  stance contradicts what he has said in the past about a single payer plan. Notice how it is no longer healthcare reform, but instead health insurance reform.

This is actually quite funny. Steyn: The Community Is Restless  from National Review Online

All great change in America begins at the dinner table. So, tomorrow night in the kitchen I hope the talking begins. And children, if your parents haven't been teaching you what it means to be an American, let 'em know and nail 'em on it. That would be a very American thing to do.
