Nearly Half of all Americans Want Congress to Vote Against Obama Health Plan from CNSNews.com Headlines

The man made global warming people are trying to down play the significance of the emails that were recently exposed. Their long standing claim of a “consensus” can no longer be allowed to be the argument ending statement. It’s time for meaningful debate on the issue without studies being done in secret, and scientists that do not agree with their views being called deniers. If their data and conclusions were as robust as they have told us than it should be able to withstand being scrutinized.

War Tax

Isn’t it great how liberals see no problem on just raising our taxes. Shouldn’t this be covered in the defense budget?  In case you are interested, it’s called, Share the Sacrifice Act, and they are exploring a “surtax” on our income tax to finance the Afghanistan war.

“The first bracket, which covers joint returns with a liability of up to $22,600, roughly corresponds with households earning up to $150,000. In this case a 1 percent surtax is levied so the maximum additional cost would be $226.

The second bracket applied to tax liability between $22,600 and $36,400 or roughly equivalent to joint returns for couples earning between $150,000 to $250,000, The third bracket applies to those earning over $250,000 with a tax liability of $36,400 or higher.

The rates in the second and third brackets would vary depending on how much needs to be raised to cover the prior year’s war expenditures. But as a rule, the added surtax above $250,000 would be twice the percentage added onto taxes incurred between $150,000 and $250,000. “

I think that every act this congress passes should be a share the sacrifice act. We will be sharing the sacrifice for ObamaCare. We will be sharing the sacrifice for Cap and Tax. We will be sharing the sacrifice for illegal amnesty. The still unemployed are sharing the sacrifice on the failed porkulus. In fact, not only will we have to share the sacrifice, but so will our children, and grandchildren. War surtax: ‘Pay as you fight’ from POLITICO Top Stories by David Rogers

This is from recovery.gov’s website. “Recovery.gov is the U.S. government’s official website providing easy access to data related to Recovery Act spending and allows for the reporting of potential fraud, waste, and abuse.” Too bad they can’t seem to get the data right. Isn’t it comforting to know that the website that Obama has set up to allow us to track the porkulus bill doesn’t have any controls to validate the data. It seems that there have been many jobs created in congressional districts that don’t even exist. The official stance is that it is attributable to human error, and that the data is correct. I salute Rep. Michael McMahon for listening to his constituents and voting no on PelosiCare. This showed great courage in the face of the Democrat party’s bullying tactics. I’m sure that they will remember this next year, and treat him the way they treated Joe Lieberman.  Hey Mike, maybe it’s time you leave the Democrat party. We need a man, Republican or Democrat, who listens to the people that they are entrusted to govern.  Staten Island is the last Republican bastion in a mostly Democrat city, and we need some one who shares our views of limited, fiscally responsible government.  We know that if it wasn’t for the Vito Fosella disgrace you wouldn’t have won. If the GOP puts up a strong candidate next year, you will in all likelihood lose. You have a year to further prove you represent us. Don’t waste it.

This is Michael McMahon’s statement.

"I believe that we need to reform the healthcare system, reduce spending, cut waste, fraud and abuse and expand coverage for more Americans.  Unfortunately the bill that passed the United States House tonight does not do that," said McMahon  (D-Staten Island/Brooklyn) in a statement. "The cuts to Medicare will affect seniors in my district, the cuts to the Disproportionate Share Hospitals (DSH) will make it harder for hospitals to service Staten Island and Brooklyn and the cost containment doesn’t go far enough.  There is no guarantee that this bill will reduce the cost of healthcare premiums for Staten Island and Brooklyn families."
